Terry H. O’Neal
Chief Executive Officer
Terry O’Neal is Chief Executive Officer of Traxon Technologies and OSRAM’s Solutions Business Unit with responsibility for the end-to-end global business. Working closely with the OSRAM Management Board to set strategy and foster a culture of innovation, Terry directs a customer focused organization that markets an integrated intelligent lighting solution. A strong advocate of creating customer value, he drives local decision making closer to customers around the world, resulting in greater partnering, collaboration, attuned to both global and local needs.
Mr. O’Neal is a seasoned international executive successful at turning around companies through international growth expansion, productivity improvement, cash management and building executive leadership teams. Terry is a results-oriented executive who excels in achieving sustained business growth through lean 6 sigma, product development, strategic acquisitions, international expansion, and instilling a performance management company culture. He previously served as President/CEO of three companies while serving as a Board Director of three companies and two non-profits. Often described as focused, passionate and results driven, Mr. O’Neal infuses his organizations with his own brand of engaged leadership, vision, innovation, and energy.
Terry began his career with Schneider Electric where he spent 19 years holding positions with increasing responsibility. He held numerous senior management and executive roles around the globe. He was with Kavlico Corporation as the President and Chief Operating Officer and led the Company to record sales and profitability. In his last year, Kavlico recorded revenue exceeding $200M and employed 1,600 employees. Prior to Kavlico, Mr. O’Neal was President of EFI Electronics Corporation where he doubled the revenue through global expansion and achieved record profitability through Lean Manufacturing and innovative supply chain management. Mr. O’Neal’s broad knowledge is a result of his cross-functional leadership experience that included six years abroad in Singapore and France.
After leaving Schneider Electric, he spent six years in private equity related companies. Mr. O’Neal spent two years as Chief Executive Officer and Board Director at Abrisa Technologies where he led the successful integration of three companies. After spending two years advising CEO’s and private equity firms on acquisition opportunities, Mr. O’Neal joined Fulham (Lighting) Company, Inc. At Fulham, he held the position of Global Vice-President, responsible for the global operations and product development teams based in China.
Mr. O’Neal currently serves on the Board of Directors of AST Modular based in Barcelona, Spain and was a board member of Power Distribution Inc. based in Richmond, VA which was later acquired by Smiths Industries from Bertram Capital in 2011. Terry is also a former board member of Casa Pacifica (non-profit) based in Camarillo, CA and the Moorpark College Foundation.
Chief Financial Officer
Thorsten Lentfert is Chief Financial Officer of Traxon Technologies Ltd. Hong Kong and Business Unit SOL - a position he has held since January 2013.
Thorsten is currently responsible for overseeing all financial functions, IT, procurement and supply chain within the company, including planning, forecasting, controlling and strategic planning. Thorsten has been working at Osram for over 20 years and for 12 years, he has been in the roles of CFO and CEO in Asia. His last assignment was CEO of Osram Japan.
With more than 20 years of experience in controlling within the OSRAM organization, Thorsten manages all of the company’s financial and operational functions, while working to maintain and increase its profitability, improving processes and strategic planning.
Thorsten holds a Diploma in Management Science at Hamburg University. Born in Hamburg, he currently resides in Hong Kong with his wife and two sons.
Senior Director of Product and Systems Strategy
Andreas Koerber is Senior Director of Product and Systems Strategy at Traxon Technologies Ltd., a position he has held since October 2011. As such, he is responsible for the planning of all products, systems and brands within the entity. Prior to this role, Koerber was Chief Marketing Officer for the OSRAM LEDVANCE range, a series of professional LED Luminaires, which are planned, developed and manufactured by Traxon in Hong Kong, and distributed via the OSRAM sales organization, with special focus on the trade and wholesale channels.
Prior to his current role, Koerber had been Global Business Segment Manager LED Luminaires at OSRAM in France, where he started and developed an innovation cell for the new business segment, “Professional LED Luminaires”.
With over 20 years of post-graduate industrial experience in the international lighting sector, Koerber is a creative business manager with equal strengths in the marketing and engineering sectors. His ability to introduce an LED luminaire portfolio and sculpt it into a now thriving general illumination business segment, illustrates Koerber’s knowledge of the industry, as well as his ability to identify market demands and design efficient, successful solutions. A confident manager of both projects and teams, Koerber communicates with colleagues and customers of all levels, and values a working environment which actively encourages innovation, responsibility, and excellence.
Born and raised in Germany, Koerber holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University in Munich, he currently resides in Hong Kong with his wife and three children, and enjoys playing guitar and several sports, including motor biking, sailing, power boating, and diving.
Director, Global Key Account Management Group
Lee Richards is Director, Global Key Account Management Group, a position he has held since 2010. Prior to his current role, he had been CEO and Managing Director of Traxon Technologies EU BV since 2005. Richards currently heads up a new global business unit, which manages strategic partnerships between Traxon and material building technologies companies. Additionally, he is responsible for business development within key market sectors including Retail and Hospitality, Siemens, and OEM customers.
Prior to joining Traxon in 2005, Lee worked at LJR Associates Ltd., a consultancy he founded, which offered general business advice to SME businesses as well as sales and marketing expertise. Prior to LJR Associates Ltd. he was Business Development Director at Inline Sales Ltd., working primarily with new company start-ups and overseas-based businesses merging for the first time into the UK.
Richards contributes over 30 years of sales and marketing experience to the company specializing in large multi-national start-up businesses and SME’s. He is a strong leader with exceptional team building skills, as well as the proven ability to inspire and empower colleagues. With extensive knowledge of the Solid State Lighting industry and the ability to develop and manage turnkey projects from specification to delivery, Lee drives sales and solutions within Traxon’s global organization and is familiar with worldwide markets including Asia Pacific, NAFTA, Europe, and the Middle East.
Born and raised in Blackburn in the North of England, Richards resides in London where he enjoys music, sports, travel, theatre, and spending time with family.
Quality & Procurement Director
Hedley enables operational excellence across various quality functions including field quality, industrial quality, development quality, supplier quality and customer quality. As the strategic leader for PPQQ (Price, Payment terms, Quality and Quantity), Hedley also drives processes in global procurement, customer service, certification, reliability, safety, environmental and sustainability.
Prior to joining Traxon in 2012, Hedley was VP of Purchasing, Asia for ThyssenKrupp Elevator where he managed purchasing strategies and activities in China, Korea and India. Instrumental in quality management for various world-class electronic companies, Hedley is experienced in Product Life Cycle Management and global sourcing for Electronic Manufacturing Services including fiber optic communication and consumer electronics.
Born in Macau, Hedley has lived and worked in Toronto, Singapore, Beijing and Shanghai. He currently resides in Hong Kong and enjoys watching TV, movies, reading and fishing.
Research & Development Director
Minna identifies and realizes innovations and solutions that support the strategic business direction to offer systems and solution differentiators. Leading a cross-regional team of electronics, software and mechanical engineers, Minna directs the research and development of Solid State Lighting solutions from the discovery through to important development milestones. Working closely with System and Product Strategy, Minna strives to create, align and continuously improve development processes to ensure an innovation pipeline that sustains the business ambition.
Prior to joining Traxon in 2012, Minna held various positions within the Innovation, Technology and Development sectors of telecommunications and consumer electronics industries for reputed MNC, SME and start-up in USA, Beijing and Hong Kong. Her responsibilities included managing the technical aspects of business innovation projects for pursuing new business opportunities; and exploring new areas outside traditional consumer product development, which extended to services opportunities for providing end-to-end solutions.
Minna likes reading, hiking and leisure travelling.
CEO of North America
Al Uszynski joined Traxon in July 2013 as CEO of North America. In this role, he reports to Terry O'Neal, CEO of Traxon Technologies Ltd. He is based in the East Rutherford, NJ office.
Uszynski came to Traxon with an extensive background in the LED lighting and controls industries, featuring an outstanding track record of significant revenue growth. Throughout his 20 year career, Uszynski has held sales leadership positions at multiple lighting and controls companies throughout North America. Most recently, he held the position of Area Vice President – Northeast at Cooper Lighting, where he drove sales of Commercial & Industrial, national accounts, energy, specification and controls. Prior to that role, Uszynski spent 18 years driving specification sales and marketing initiatives with high performance lighting and controls products at other lighting industry manufacturers, including Hubbell Lighting and Lutron Electronics.
Uszynski is an active member of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America, where he currently serves on the Lighting for Educational Facilities Committee, and previously served as Vice President of the Long Island Section. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Villanova University and an MBA in Management from Hofstra University.
Dr. Gernot Steinlesberger
Global Business Development Director
Dr. Steinlesberger heads the global specification business and regional sales in EMEA, managing a team of Project & Solution sales professionals. Solidifying connections through communicating the unique values Traxon brings to its customers and partners, Dr. Steinlesberger drives end-to-end sales growth and strategies to underpin the sales pipeline.
Prior to joining Traxon in 2013, Dr. Steinlesberger led various projects including Key Account Management and Project & Solution business in OSRAM’s Corporate Strategy department. He previously held leadership positions as Vice President at Solyndra LCC where he was responsible for marketing and EMEA regional strategy; and as Director for Key Account Sales in global business at Qimonda AG and various product management positions at Qimonda AG and Infineon Technologies AG. Dr. Steinlesberger started his professional career as Development Engineer at the Corporate Research department of Siemens AG and Infineon AG.
Based in OSRAM GmbH head office in Munich, Dr. Steinlesberger has a degree in Technical Physics and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Vienna University of Technology, Austria. He holds several patents and has published numerous publications in journals and conferences in research and business communities.
